Annually elected by the membership, the Executive Committee are officers of the association and have primary oversight for the success of BIO Alabama, including developing and maintaining strong communications, initiatives, and partnerships important to the vision and operations of BIO Alabama and its members. Industry University Collaborations
This committee identifies the opportunities, barriers and gaps that exist is the current way that Alabama Universities and Industry connect. They recommend strategies and opportunities to make better alliances and to leverage the research and needs that exist in Alabama and outside the state.
Marketing & Communications
This committee creates strategic internal and external communications to highlight our members, advocate for biosciences throughout the state and help the state to highlight the strength of the biosciences in Alabama to recruit new industry.
Networking & Events
This committee develops regional and state events to bring members together, create new relationships and present relevant subjects for discussion and training.
This committee develops the legislative agenda for BIO Alabama and communicates with our state offices. The Legislative Affairs committee chair is a member of BIO’s Government Affairs Council.
Tech Transfer & Commercialization
This committee identifies opportunities for commercialization and job growth within the state. Networking with both university and industrial researchers they provide outreach to commercial opportunities and identify best practices for tech transfer.
The committee studies the challenges faced by small business in Alabama and connects entrepreneurs to mentors, funding and provides access to business training.
